AP Accessibility Fixer for WooCommerce

Description

AP Accessibility Fixer for WooCommerce ships nine free fixers. There is no Pro version.

The plugin does not make a store fully accessible. It does not measure the store against WCAG, and it does not fix text contrast ratios.

The fixes run through WordPress and WooCommerce hooks. They are not an overlay widget. Each fixer covers a specific case. Test the store yourself with a keyboard and a screen reader.

What the nine fixers do:

  1. Product image alt text. Fills empty product-image alt text from the image or the product title. Read the result. It still has to describe the image.
  2. Keyboard trap escape. Adds an Escape handler for selected WooCommerce modals. Check tab order yourself.
  3. Focus indicators. Adds focus styles to selected WooCommerce controls. Theme controls outside those selectors are left alone.
  4. Form labels. Adds accessible names to some unlabeled inputs in post content. Checkout templates need a separate test.
  5. Focus and error styles. Adds focus outlines and error borders on selected fields. It does not measure text contrast.
  6. Skip link. Adds a skip-to-content link with a small inline script.
  7. Error messages. Connects selected WooCommerce error messages to nearby fields with a small inline script.
  8. Heading hierarchy. Adjusts heading levels in post content when a level is skipped. Check the outline yourself.
  9. Main landmark. Adds a main landmark to a matching content wrapper when the page does not already have one.

FAQ

Does this make my WooCommerce store WCAG or ADA compliant?

No. The plugin applies nine specific fixes. It does not audit the whole store, and it does not make the store compliant. Test the pages yourself.

Does it fix color contrast?

It adds focus outlines and error borders on selected fields. It does not measure text or background contrast, and it does not change text colors to hit a 4.5:1 ratio.

Is this an overlay like AccessiBe or UserWay?

No. Those tools add a widget in the browser. This plugin hooks WordPress and WooCommerce. The fixes only cover the cases listed above.

Does this work with my theme?

It targets common WooCommerce markup. A theme that replaces those templates can miss a fix. Check the pages after you turn a fixer on.

Does this fix checkout forms?

The form-label fixer runs on post content. It does not prove that every checkout field has a name. Walk through checkout with a keyboard.

What happens when I uninstall?

Uninstall removes the plugin’s saved data and stops applying the fixes. It does not edit theme or WooCommerce template files.
